Here is an all-around life update for the week.
I am currently lounging around binge-watching Gilmore Girls because I have finally reached the point where it got so intense that I can’t stop watching. Shows are so weird like that. Usually, I start bingeing a show right from the get-go: Friends, Grey’s Anatomy, How I met Your Mother, The Office, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, PLL. But for some reason, it took me 4 seasons of Gilmore Girls to reach that point. And I am honestly okay with it. I mean it makes me want to drink coffee all day and go to Yale for journalism but who doesn’t love a television fantasy?
I bought a Nespresso Machine yesterday too. I cannot tell you how indecisive my mom and I were when it comes to coffee machines. This has been a monthly conversation where we have literally never come to a conclusion and then continue to drink coffee as if we were actually making it properly. Now when I say my old machine was old, I mean that literally. Finally, after such a long time, we came to the conclusion that a Nespresso was our best option. And the idea came from my family friend. I am currently staying at their house since I am in the process of selling mine, and I came across their small machine and the moment I tasted that espresso, I was sold. Funny thing, I work at a coffee shop where I get a free bag of beans each week so that we can try the coffee, get a taste of different flavors and continue that journey. But I am now obsessed with Nespresso. And what makes it even better is that they have recyclable pods. So before we talk about waste, I was iffy about it too, which made me feel a lot more eco-friendly.
I have no clue why, but I have been obsessed with the throwback Chris Brown song “With you”. Not gonna lie, I heard it in a Tik Tok, but I completely forgot how good the song was. There’s something about the song that puts me in a good mood and has me singing my heart out, so I made a playlist surrounding that. I started making good playlists (at least in my opinion, but I am probably pretty biased) last year and I’ve been determined to make one for every mood I can think of. SO… this playlist was called mood booster or something like that (I also get all my playlist covers from Pinterest… I’ll link my account down below) and now I am playing it on repeat. For some reason, the motivation to make playlists also comes at midnight every time so I end up forgetting a lot of my ideas and lose track of why I was making the playlists by the time I wake up in the morning.
I want to share my go-to Starbucks order too since we were on the subject of coffee. I am LOVING an almond milk latte with a little bit of hazelnut or even soy milk (definitely depends on the day). But for those who don’t love the taste of coffee but still need a caffeine kick, I’ve also been into matcha recently. I followed a Tik Tok trend and got an iced matcha latte with a little chai pump in there and it was really good. I don’t usually follow the trends, but sometimes my curiosity just gets the best of me. And for those who just don’t need caffeine, then the honey citrus mint tea is for you. It has been my go-to for a while because after drinking so much coffee, I needed a little break so I switch it out here and there for one of these drinks and it is delicious.
I’ve also been trying to explore more. Now I know with COVID it is difficult, but I love going on drives (I find them very therapeutic) and so I have been trekking over to Toronto in hopes of discovering new coffee shops. I just grab and go because I want to be safe and also they only offer take-out, but I have been loving the adventure. I also found the cutest park with a couple friends and now I want to live in the city all of a sudden.
Anyways that’s a wrap on my week. And sometimes life updates are needed just to bring some inspo from my life.
