Okay, Serious Talk

HAPPY SUNDAY!

Yesterday on my Instagram, I posted a video addressing mental health again. I wanted to bring up this issue that is really being pushed aside and not being acknowledged enough. It’s fair to say that EVERYONE has been through the biggest rough patch ever. And I think after hearing and seeing that we are going into a further restricted lockdown, this has become a complete breaking point for many people. My blog has always been something that I will be proud of because I have been able to share my life in real-time, and create a space that is positive and relatable for anyone who wants to see.

With that being said, I have made it extremely clear that I value mental health and the mental well-being of everyone. As an advocate, I want to continue to bring awareness to the fact that this stigma around mental health is still present. I feel like it has turned into something where we are characterized or labeled with something that may not be as severe but still prominent and disturbing. Everyone goes through stress and anxiety and sadness, and although they may not qualify to be an illness, they are STILL VALID for being a part of mental health.

It has saddened me over the past months that although there are general helplines (which I think are a great start), it is sometimes not the same as having a one on one conversation with no strings attached and no crazy measures being taken. Reaching out is something that is probably one of the hardest things to do when it comes to seeking help for mental health. I can say personally, that it is such a high mental barrier to reach out to someone and talk about your feelings. It may seem unusual and your head may convince you that it is weak and selfish. BUT LET ME TELL YOU. It is not in the slightest. It shows strength and courage and loyalty to yourself to challenge this inner fight and do something to care for yourself.

Anyways, this so-called “serious” talk I set this out to be was meant to bring up the fact that I, along with many others are here for you, here to listen, to share, to relate, to help, and to help you realize that you are not alone. I am creating a specific page on my blog for mental health resources because my goal is to create this comfort and relief in this pandemic and to lend a helping hand.

Also, keep up to date with my Instagram because I will be continuing to show resources and provide information and my time to being there for all of you!

Stay Kind:)
