A New Journey

This week has been so crazy. I started the hybrid system for my first week of senior year (Little bit of in-class and the rest online), been swamped with homework, and finally have been preparing myself for an extremely hard good-bye tomorrow. My lovely sister is leaving Ontario and embarking on a new journey to British Columbia. I am so excited for her to take on a new city, well a new province. I already know she will thrive and be so successful with this adventure but I’m so sad she will be so far away.

British Columbia actually sparked the idea for this week’s blog.

I want to reveal a few adventures off of my travel bucket list!

My bucket list varies quite often, with adding new adventures I’ve just heard of, or narrowing down to make the journey easier to navigate!

  1. British Columbia: I’ll start off with the place that created this idea. I saw a travel video a few years back that seriously changed my life (I will link down below). The video was in BC and ever since I saw it, traveling there has been at the top of my bucket list. I would say that I am a bit of a naturalist: so when in doubt, I realized that British Columbia is one of the best provinces to impress the love for nature side of me. And over the years, I’ve begun to narrow down what I want to do there: hiking to the top of a peak, kayaking in the glaciers, skiing (of course), seeing a view from a high mountain point, surfing in Tofino (just a few starting thoughts). But what sold me was the fact that I LOVE SUNSETS and the views from some of these mountain points are unbelievable.
  2. Paris: Now I actually crossed this off my list but I wanted to put it in anyways! I already blogged about my life-changing trip but the fact that I got to go to this beautiful city and even see the city from the EIFFEL TOWER blows my mind. I never thought I would’ve had the chance to travel with one of my closest friends to see this amazing place and cross it off my list. As I walked through the streets, I was re-playing “La Vie en Rose” in my head and wondered how I got so lucky to go to my dream place since I was 6 years old.
  3. Surfing in Hawaii: As someone who has never set foot on a surfboard, I thought it was quite fitting to add something that I could learn how to do. Plus, who wouldn’t wanna learn in Hawaii. I got the idea when my family started watching Hawaii 5-O on tv and they just looked like they had their lives together. Imagine the aesthetic of getting an açai bowl and sitting on the beach after a long hike through the green mountains with the sun beaming down as it just starts to set over the horizon. What a dream. I also want to learn how to live with an easygoing mindset where I just feel free.
  4. Greece: Anyone who watched the sisterhood of the traveling pants would know that Greece is gorgeous. All I want to do is overlook from the top of Santorini towards the ocean that just goes on forever. Even to just walk in the little stone alleyways and buy some flowers at a little shop and then go for dinner and try some greek dishes and adapting to the tranquil style would be living the dream. This will be a trip where I constantly journal to take in every moment.
  5. Bali: I was inspired by my sister’s adventure to Bali. I want to go on a relaxation and rejuvenate retreat. This will mean deepening my understanding of yoga while also visiting some calming spas, then hiking in some hidden forest paths to finding the most amazing waterfalls. I want to embrace the views by swinging on one of those massive swings that oversee the rainforests and then to finish off with a food coma since their diversity and freshness of food is unheard of.
  6. London: I’ve learned that London is just a completely different pace of living and I. Want. To. Experience. It. When I go to London, I have a few goals; get a new wardrobe, ride a double-decker red bus and I want to develop my sense of fast-paced living where I always have something to do. I think this will help me. And when I say help me, I will be so much better at time management.
  7. Ethiopia: I actually did a project on this country a while back and discovered that you can actually go there for a Me To We trip. This has always been a goal of mine, to not only travel but to go somewhere where I can make a difference. I want to learn the true meaning of making an impact right in the moment and to see the positive change in one’s quality of life.
  8. Yosemite National Park: This is probably one of the most specific places that I want to travel to. To camp and hike with the most breathtaking views away from reality and without technology to distract me will help me realize that even the smallest moments can bring me the happiest memories. I especially want this adventure to be with close friends and family so they can enjoy it with me.

With every place that I add to this list, I want to get a new perspective on life and if you haven’t seen it, live out the Eat, Pray, Love mindset to develop new values within each adventure!
