Long time no post.
I’m back and going to try and keep this routine of posting on Sundays going… or at least be more active on my Instagram! (@gracefullblog).
It has been an absolutely crazy couple of weeks. And while moving to university, I got the idea to do a room tour. And then I was thinking about how maybe I could do a room essential guide.
I know I just started university too. I got A LOT of learning to do and my opinion on what essentials are needed may change. But I am kinda obsessed with my room and want to share some of my favorite things to make it as cozy as possible.
My roommate and I wanted to make our room aesthetic and cozy at the same time. We thought of some colors, like green and a soft pink, kind of a neat boho vibe. We wanted to add plants (I am kind of a plant mom) and just create our home away from home.
Adjusting is hard. I didn’t realize how anxious I would become when moving away from my home (although I am really close to my family). But I thought, what better way to adjust and maybe start my routine than with a room I am fully comfortable in.
And there are definitely some essentials I think are necessary for every dorm and I will link everything down below!
This is currently my favorite corner. All the pictures on the wall are actually film pictures that I have taken over the past year. I think it will continue to grow as I take more pictures and soon hopefully most of the wall will be covered!
My Bed:
BEDDING – T-shirt Jersey Duvet Cover
PILLOWS – Plush Body Pillow & Faux Fur PIllow
BLANKET (not shown): INDIGO (couldn’t find the link)
I would call it an essential to get the urban outfitters bedding. Literal most comfortable and cute bedding ever. Although I originally bought a double duvet rather than twin, it was necessary to bring it anyway.
Plants:
Plants – Succulent & Other Succulent
Personal opinion, but plants are an essential. I might just leave that there.

My computer has recently been giving me a hard time but I still wanted to link the tour video even though I can’t exactly insert it right into the blog (also there is no sound to the video).
Anyway… SOME ROOM ESSENTIALS:
Cart: Utility Cart
I live by this when I say this IKEA cart was one of the best purchases I have made. In the video, you can see that it’s white. Fun fact, that’s actually not its original color. When I first bought it, it was teal. It didn’t go with my room, but I used it until I finally decided to spray paint it black. And then once my roommate and I had decided what we wanted to do with our dorm, I changed it again to white. It is so useful and I absolutely love it. Plus it has wheels so you can push it everywhere.
Fan: Rechargeable Fan
A fan is a must when it comes to essentials. Our residence currently does not have any a/c. I am very grateful that when I walk outside it’s not too hot, but with the window open it doesn’t really cool down in our room. This is the fan that I bought and I am currently having trouble figuring it out but any fan will work.
COFFEE MAKER: nespresso maker
This is it. the most essential item I truly needed. but it’s a secret. For any coffee addict needing dependence on a coffee maker, nespresson has really small espresso makers PERFECT for school. Plus, they usually have sales on them too.
TOTE BAGS: I’m not going to link any because I bought mine from a small shop in Kelowna, but recently I’ve been using mine more and it’s just perfect. I went to the library and just put everything I needed in there and it was just so convenient.
