Hey Everyone!
Those who follow my Instagram have already seen my general review of the one day juice cleanse I did during the week. This is one thing I had always wanted to try, just for a day, and I wanted to see how I would feel and if the benefits were true. And what better time than while we are at home all day on lockdown. The funny thing is I was going to make each juice myself however, I realized all the work that would have to go into it since I didn’t have a proper juicer at my house So instead, I found a local juice store downtown that has a variety of cleanses. I found out they also do half cleanses where you have a list of food that you are able to eat during the day, but I wanted the full experience, so I decided to do a full day.
I’ve read a few benefits about doing a juice cleanse where you will receive a lot more vitamins than a daily basis if you don’t usually consume too many fruits or vegetables, you may experience more energy and a positive impact on your immune system. Honestly speaking, after my first two juices, I was already feeling more energized and motivated that I was able to complete some tasks at home that I had been procrastinating for a while. Plus, I was feeling a lot more productive which definitely cleared my head. As for my immune system and the vitamins, I don’t have the proper knowledge to tell if it worked (I mean it was only one day), but I was feeling a lot better and happier than I had been, almost like a complete reset.
But I will be honest about one thing. There were definitely some challenges to the day. As a caffeine addict, I couldn’t have coffee with the cleanse, so that was one of my cravings all day. It was hard because I am already used to having coffee every morning but once I had the first juice, I felt like I was going to succeed without coffee. Also, when some of the tastes were not the greatest, it was hard to get through the juice but, I continued to push through and eventually got through it.
Other than that, it was really good to get out of my usual routine and try something different to add some eventfulness to my week. Down below are the juices that were part of the cleanse, the wellness shot was double so in total there were six juices and three shots.
By far, my absolute favorite juice was the vanilla almond, just because I have a sweet tooth. And it was the last juice so I was excited when I got to finish the cleanse with that juice. I think the hardest one was probably the mean greens. At that point, I had had too much celery for one day and I had to try really hard with that juice. Overall, I would give the cleanse an 8/10. Other than the taste of a couple of juices, I was already given a plan and little schedule so I didn’t have to improvise or make any decisions. The store I got it from was Green Press (In case you wanted to try it). Check out my Instagram (@gracefullblog) for the rating on each juice and for more updates on future blogs!
Hope you all have a great week!
Stay Kind:)
