I was excited to talk about mindfulness and the importance of relaxation so you’re gonna get a couple blogs this week!
I just wrote a very stressful chemistry test in class and had the rest of the day with no homework. And what better way to relieve some stress than to journal or enjoy some meditative practices. It’s so important to allow yourself some time for relaxation and self-care, especially since our weeks can get very exhausting.
My brother got me this lovely book filled with entries and short meditation movements and exercises and although I don’t always have the time within my busy schedule, I’ve slowly been progressing through the book. Every time I try a new entry, there is so much relief that surfaces, since I’m just jotting down raw thoughts of what I am thinking about and my own opinion. It’s definitely therapeutic to have small spaces or moments to figure out specific blips where you’ve been more bothered or reasons why you’re experiencing stress, and honestly, I have found that journaling is one of the best self-care routines to get into so your emotions aren’t bottled up.
Being fully into the swing of school, working a new job a few times a week, while managing homework and other challenging stresses can make it hard to take some time for myself, but I always feel so much happier and motivated after journaling for even just five minutes. It’s healthy to just take a breather every once in a while and enjoy little small moments of peace!
Hopefully, you are able to take some time this week and jot down some thoughts, color, read, or anything you do for self-care even if it is just for a few moments. Trust me when I say a little bit can go a long way!
Thank you!
