HAPPY SUNDAY!

I feel like I manage to speak about friendship and surrounding yourself with people who boost you and support you in quite a few of my blogs. But, I wanted to dedicate one specifically for the friends who are ‘soul fillers’.

Over the past few years, I had the opportunity to learn a lot, not only about myself but the energy I was choosing to surround myself with. Until I was living truly on my own in what seemed like a completely different world, I wasn’t able to step out of my “bubble” and see what had been radiating around me. It was almost like I needed to be removed in order to understand what had been going on in my life. This is an important milestone that is as unpredictable as it gets. I had no idea when I was going to have this revelation about how much the energy I surround myself with impacts me. And I also didn’t realize who were true soul fillers in my life.

What I mean by ‘soul fillers’ are those who surround you and not only are they there to support and be in your life, but also give you the energy you also give out. They fill your soul, fill your cup, and genuinely add this calmness and rejuvenation to your life. Soul fillers are the true people who I can guarantee will be in your life for a long time. They bring out the parts of you that make you, well you. They are the everything friends. There when you need an extra shoulder to cry on. There when you need to laugh until your stomach hurts. They show you a new perspective and also guide you through the dark when you feel lost. You can sit in silence for hours, but it’s their presence that brings you a sense of comfort. You both just get it. It’s reciprocal. But they come unexpectedly. It may be frustrating to not be able to guess when these humans will show up in your life, but trust me, they will come exactly when you need them to.

I believe that there is the right timing for everything. People will come into and leave your life at the times when you need to learn and grow. Everything happens for a reason, I believe the truth in that. It’s easy to think that things aren’t happening for you or life is just hard because life just wants to throw a lot your way. But I think the people in your life will come at the perfect time, you just may not realize it.

So soul fillers are real people. But promise me you’ll be patient if they haven’t come yet. They’ll be there right when you need them most.

Remember to be kind to each other and to yourself. This hectic world can seem like a wave too large sometimes. But a little kindness goes a long way.

And stay true to yourself. Don’t change yourself for other people. The right ones will always stay.
