Homemade Holiday

I love the art of gift-giving. Since I build off of the energy of others (The bit of extrovert in me), to see their raw, happy reaction as they open their gifts is the best feeling in the world. And with everything going on in the world right now, sometimes a little gift is just what’s in need to bring a little hope for the holidays. And as much as I love shopping and going to malls, with the overwhelming craziness at some of them, I wanted to stir away from shopping fast fashion and chains and shop more local, supporting some amazing small businesses. While buying these gifts was empowering, knowing I am bringing business to hardworking individuals, I came up with a few ideas on my own to make some pretty amazing gifts for my friends.

If you’re a candle lover like me, then making soy candles will be the best hobby ever. It’s easy, eco-friendly, and really aesthetically pleasing.

I just wanted to show you the final product for one of my candles that I got to make because out of all the gifts I gave this year, this may have been one of my absolute favorites.

I mixed a little bit of lavender and blood orange to make a really fresh scent and I am obsessed so I ended up making another one for myself with the extra soy wax.

I found this little kit that comes with candle wicks, soy wax, and these two metal pieces to hold the wick in place.

I found the simplest steps online and made the candles within an hour.

I made my gifted candles in coffee mugs for sentimental value to my friends but I also tried jars as well and they both work the same!

Anyways, homemade gifts hold a special place in my heart because it makes me happy to bring joy with my sentimental gifts:)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Stay Kind:)
