HAPPY HAPPY SUNDAY!
I am sitting inside, currently shielding myself from the heat wave happening, and I thought of this idea to talk about editing, posting, and creating Instagram pictures.
I post A LOT. Plus I have two accounts that I regularly use and update with posts and stories. And I am gonna be honest. It is hard balancing both when I realized that I have to continuously choose between the two of which one I will post on.
My blog account, the one most of you see… has a specific theme with some of the pictures or transitional themes that I had an eye for when I first started the account. Now, if I love a picture, then I will absolutely post it, but there’s this aspect to blogging and creating a niche that I have always kept in mind when it comes to posting. Sharing my secret, for that account I use three apps. For editing, my go-to is lightroom. If you don’t have this app, get it right now. It puts a more natural look on pictures that I absolutely love. Then, I also use VSCO but not too often, only when I have trouble with loading lightroom. For this account I also use feed preview. If you are someone very into social media and wanting to grow your platform, this is a great way to plan out posts, captions and any content you want to create.
For my second, personal account, I use everything from VSCO to lightroom to nothing. Sometimes my pictures line up with a specific theme but to be honest, I’ve wanted to make that account more casual. My goal is to steer away with editing pictures a lot because I don’t want to take away the naturality and lighting of my pictures. I also tend to take a lot of photos outside and my vision is to always keep the original colour as much as possible.
My personal tips for taking pictures: a lot of good content can come just from the lighting.
When taking pictures, I try to plan around the lighting in the day, and usually it can really be during most of it. I find harsh lighting happens right when the sun hits it’s peak, in the afternoon but even that can turn out well depending on backgrounds.
Another tip: taking candid photos.
I know I pose a lot in my pictures but sometimes the best pictures are from natural moments!
Last tip: Have fun with it!
It can be stressful taking pictures, especially with social media, and getting caught up in social standards, but if you are having fun and enjoying yourself, you will enjoy the pictures and outcomes a lot more!
Hopefully you got some insight for today on my process with social media!
STAY KIND:)
