giving thanks

Along with World Mental Health Day, it is also Thanksgiving today so I thought what a great opportunity to write a little post about giving thanks.

I am grateful for a lot this year. I think in the past two years I’ve noticed the most self-growth in myself. I had a lot of people in my life support that growth, both families, friends, and teachers and I don’t know how successful I would be if I didn’t have that encouragement and inspiration from them.

It takes a lot to stay by someone who is going through major growth both mentally, physically, socially, intellectually… The strength, empowerment, and motivation they provide are beyond amazing and while finding their own way, they manage to help someone find theirs. It truly inspires me the kindness I was shown through finding the best version of myself.

I am quite literally the most grateful for my family though. It’s hard being away from your siblings when they are your built-in best friends. Every time I have seen them this year, we realize how much we enjoy being in each other’s company and how those small moments of smiles and laughter, and nostalgia make our worlds so much better. So for these special times, I will always be grateful for such a wonderful family.

My friends amaze me constantly. I love watching them grow and I love getting the chance to be by their side during it. All of my friends are my role models in so many different ways. I’ve learned loyalty, and trust, being a shoulder to cry on, someone to listen, give advice, give a hug, lend a hand, and just be a friend, a supporter, and a family. My people are amazing and I could literally go on for hours talking about it.

I’m grateful for fall, the leaves changing colors, nature being beautiful.

I’m grateful for coffee because I am still an addict. But that leads me to also being grateful for my special work bonds that I’ve created and the amazing work friends I get to see when I come back home.

Lastly, I am grateful for this blog. I love getting the chance to be transparent and write straight from my heart with no worry and a raw thought process. I get to share my life on a special platform that has become a really big part of me. So thank you for listening to my world.

Take some time today to think about what you are grateful for, even write it down or tell those around you what you are appreciative of.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
