Recipe Finder: The best cookie

Hope you are all doing well this week! Lately, I have been finding myself on tik tok more often, however, I’ve kept coming across a bunch of videos reviewing chocolate chip cookie recipes and I wanted to try something similar. I truly haven’t made simple chocolate chip cookies in forever so I found a recipe that I’ve never tried and I’m going to bring you along for the process and product. There are so many small tweaks and little ingredient differences with cookies that it’s so hard to find a recipe where the product is perfect. A lot of trial and error whether it’s too much flour or not enough butter and honestly it takes a while. But, we continue to learn and alter the recipe and the great thing is that if it works out, then we can incorporate those changes into our regular routine. I’ll share the recipe and if you want to try it after my review, I’d love to hear your own review!

So I used the Anna Olsen recipe but altered it slightly with the ingredients I had.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, Room Temperature
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (I substituted my usual trivia sugar blend instead)
  • 1 Egg, Room Temperature
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
  • 1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Tsp. Salt
  • 3/4-1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (I use Hershey’s Chipits)

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 325F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper
  • In a stand mixer, or using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt
  • Add gradually to the butter mixture
  • Fold or mix in the chocolate chips
  • Using an ice cream scooper or spoons, place the dough onto the prepared sheets (makes about two dozen)
  • Bake for 18 minutes, until golden brown
  • ENJOY

It did mention chilling the dough, and I have heard that it helps with the cookie consistency however the egg was chilled and the butter was slightly softened which made up for the chilled dough and the cookies turned out DELICIOUS. After my parents tried it, they were absolutely amazed and gave me a “golden buzzer” as per America’s Got Talent.

Anyways, I would definitely recommend this recipe and my review is a serious 10/10.

I guess I got lucky today with this amazing recipe!

Have an amazing week and stay kind:)
